While there are a few traditional long sandy beaches along the North Coast, most of our beaches are much smaller. These pocket beaches are niches along the shore where the sandstone has locally eroded at a faster than average rate. Whether directly accessible or visible only from the bluff above, these pocket beaches provide many and varied opportunities to watch and record the interplay of sand, stone and the ocean.
